I’ve got an inflamed spider bite on my right boob.
My right pinky finger knuckle has suddenly decided to exude arthritic-like sensations.
I have hearing-loss in my right ear. It’s plugged and inflamed as though I’m getting an ear infection.
What the heck is up with all this stuff showing up on my right side? I know the right side of the body can be related to the masculine (doing) part of myself. What is my body (and the Universe) trying to tell me?
Of course, the Universe, or Spirit, answers:
SLOW DOWN.
Just like the slug sticker on my water bottle?
YES.
But I have been slowing down since we arrived in Costa Rica, no?
YES, BUT YOU’RE STILL DOING IT WITH THE DESIRE TO BE DOING MORE. THERE’S STILL RESISTANCE. YOU HAVEN’T FULLY SURRENDERED TO THE HEAT, WITHOUT WANTING IT TO BE DIFFERENT.
Is that possible?
YES. MOSTLY.
Is this more of a mind-game thing, than a physical slowing down?
NOT REALLY, BUT YOU CAN ALWAYS USE SOME CALMING IN YOUR MIND.
What advice do you have for me, with respect to tangible actions I can take or not take?
STOP.
Just stop?
YEP.
Stop what?
TRYING SO HARD. TRYING TO RESIST. TRYING TO JUDGE. TRYING TO COOL DOWN.
YOUR EFFORTS ARE FOCUSED ON CHANGING WHAT’S UNCOMFORTABLE RATHER THAN JUST BEING AND TAKING ACTION BASED ON WHAT’S IN FRONT OF YOU.
IT’S LIKE GOING INTO A SERIES OF DARK HALLWAYS ONLY SEARCHING FOR THE LIGHT SWITCHES, RATHER THAN FEEL THE WALLS AND FLOOR FOR WHAT THEY ARE, SENSE WHAT’S IN THE DARKNESS, AND STUMBLE UPON A LIGHT SWITCH ONLY BECAUSE I PUT IT THERE FOR YOU TO DISCOVER AT THAT DIVINE AND PRECISE MOMENT IN TIME.
So…. Let go of trying to cool down. Let go of any plan, really. Just sense what’s in this moment (even if it is heat and humidity-related discomfort) and see what else is also in front of me?
YEP. GIVE IT A WHIRL. SEE WHAT HAPPENS.
BTW, YOU DID IT THIS MORNING AND WERE REWARDED WITH THE FRENCH BAKERY FINALLY BEING OPEN, THE ATM HAD AN ‘INGLÉS’ BUTTON, THE SURF SHOP HAD A HAT THAT FIT, AND THE SHOE STORE HAD SANDELS FOR IRA THAT WON’T GIVE HIM BLISTERS.
Yeah, it was truly a great morning. I felt like we won the “Costa Rica Lottery.” And then when we got home, I felt so sleepy, hot, sticky and done.
SO REST. LET GO OF DOING. THAT WAS A BIG MORNING.
